As Salaamu Alaikum wa Rehmatullahi wa Barakatahu
The Quran revealed to our beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi
wa Sallam) is a miracle. Every Ayat of the Quran is extremely important.
One must even know when the verses came down and the situations in
which they were revealed. During the recitation and the study of Quran,
one must earnestly try to understand the message contained in this book.
Each and every message is for us, the Muslim Ummah to take heed. The
stories of the earlier Prophets are there for a reason: the traits and
character seen in the people those Prophets were sent to are very much
apparent in the characters of people living today.

فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَاهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ
Verily, We have made this (Quran) easy, in your tongue, in order that they may give heed. (Quran 44:58)
Allah says in the Holy Quran,
كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُوْلُوا الْأَلْبَابِ
This is a Book full of Blessings that we have revealed unto you so people ponder upon its verses and men of intellect may reflect. (Quran 38:29)
We Muslims must understand and learn Quran, it is our duty to spread the word of Allah. When the Quran is asking its reader to understand it, there is no reason whatsoever why one should not make an effort to do that.
وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلاَّ أُوْلُواْ الأَلْبَابِ
"But none will grasp the message except the men of intellect."(Quran 2:269)
إِنَّ شَرَّ الدَّوَابَّ عِندَ اللّهِ الصُّمُّ الْبُكْمُ الَّذِينَ لاَ يَعْقِلُونَ
Surely the worst of animals in Allah's sight are the deaf, the dumb who do not use their brains.(Quran 8:22)

Quran also records the following words of those thrown into the Hell:
وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ
They will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!"(Quran 67:10)
وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ
They will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not (now) be among the Companions of the Blazing Fire!"(Quran 67:10)
Quran has itself declared:
أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا
أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ أَمْ عَلَى قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَا
Do they not then ponder on the Quran, or are there locks on the hearts?(Quran 47:24)
Thus, reading of the Quran must be followed by one’s desire
to understand it in depth and using it as a guide in one’s practical
life. If understood and followed correctly, the Quran becomes a living
guide for those who act upon it; this is Almighty’s way to show us the
Right Path. It is also His way of directing our worldly matters.
Qur'an explains to those who ignore its commandments after having understood them their fate on the Day of Judgment:
لَقَدْ أَضَلَّنِي عَنِ الذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءنِي وَكَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ لِلْإِنسَانِ خَذُولًا * وَقَالَ الرَّسُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِي اتَّخَذُوا هَذَا الْقُرْآنَ مَهْجُورًا
"He did lead me astray from the Message (of Allah) after it
had come to me! Ah! The Satan is but a traitor to man!" And the
Messenger will say: "O my Lord! Truly my people took this Qur'an as a
discarded thing." (Quran 25:30-31)
HOW?
HOW?
There are many many ways one can achieve this. We surely take
time out for using facebook, twitter, playing with our kids, hanging
out with friends, going to our jobs. Why not spend time in the way of
our Lord. Surely there is our return. Who knows whether there is a
tomorrow or not. Why waste time? Here are a few suggestions:
1. Either read Quran tafseer (30 minutes) per day from Ibn Katheer.
2. Youtube authentic Islamic scholars who have spent time for YOU (for the sake of Allah) to do tafseer of certain Surahs or summaries of all Surahs. Download them, put them on your phone/usb and listen to it on the way to work, or during walks. Example: Nouman Ali Khan's tafseer on the 30th Juz, Mufti Menk's tafseer on "Jewels from the Quran" etc
3. For those who understand Urdu/Hindi: Farhat Hashmi tafseer. There are loads and loads of other authentic sources, but one
must take a step forward.
We really really need to put an EFFORT. We need to show that we are worthy of JANNAH. Try your best. Allah wants to see our striving, our efforts. With what face will you return to your Lord on that day? Before that you need to face the questions asked in your grave. And the best part for us humans is that we have already been given the QUESTION PAPER: 3 questions of the grave and 5 for the day of judgement which NO SOUL can escape. Have you started preparing for these answers?

Trade with Allah and buy shares in the Aakhirah because A clever person is the one who works in this Dunya but has his gaze in the Aakhirah, and never forget the Qur'an and the Sunnah, because they are the keys to Jannah.
