The Benefits of Reading the Qur'an

As Salaamu Alaikum

The rewards of reciting the Quran are many. An authentic hadith in At-Tirmithee states:

"Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta'ala), he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merit as well."

But what if I am not a good reciter or having trouble or difficulty with it's recitation?

Further,: In another hadeeth, ‘Aa’ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, relates that the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said:

"Verily the one who recites the Qur’an beautifully, smoothly, and precisely, he will be in the company of the noble and obedient angels. And as for the one who recites with difficulty, stammering or stumbling through its verses, then he will have TWICE that reward.”
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

And Finally:The Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam) said:
The Qur’an is an intercessor, something given permission to intercede, and it is rightfully believed in. Whoever puts it in front of him, it will lead him to Paradise; whoever puts it behind him, it will steer him to the Hellfire.” [An authentic hadith found in At-Tabaraanee, on the authority of ‘Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood]

What Else Can I Do ?

Simply tell others to read the Qur'an or share this information with others . We are the Ummah of the Prophet Muhammad (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) and we need to be united. Just imagine, you can read the Quraan Daily inshaAllah and get numerous rewards, and also any person whom you advised to  read the Holy Qur'an does read it, you will be InshaAllah rewarded for it!

Please invite others to join reading with you and offer help to others  to read the Quraan. A beautiful book with so much guidance, and yet, we seem to neglect it.

Please  read the Quraan Daily.  The best gift you can give to your well wishers is a copy of the Holy Qur'an. If you have problem reading the Qur'an daily then you can also listen to it. You can download MP3 of the Qur'an from the internet or purchase a CD and store it in your computer or mobile. In this way, you will not miss out on your rewards. Ofcourse, it is more advisable to read the Holy Qur'an than "listening" so try to read it as often as possible.

With Best Wishes
