How to Seek Benefit in Your Recitation of Qur’an

Dear Readers, As  Salaamu Alaikum!

ALL PRAISES AND THANKS TO ALLAH, LORD OF THE WORLDS!!
Is it that you hold your Mushaf, are reciting from it and yet your mind is wandering from the food in the fridge to the weather outside? You’re unaware of what you are articulating and can’t just focus? If so this piece of writing is intended for you.
Reciting the Qur’an is a source of Barakah and, as we know, barakah is a key to productivity. Therefore we must aim to recite it in anticipation of Allah’s pleasure and barakah from him.
Indeed reading the Arabic words contains reward and you attain 10 rewards for every single letter that you pronounce. However, reading while reflecting and reciting with comprehension holds a greater benefit! Unfortunately Arabic, for many of us, is a foreign language and we are only skimming through the pages.
Here are some tips for a productive Quran recital; get the most benefit out of it!
1. Choose a hassle free time when your brain is unsullied and free from the clutters and chatters of everyday life. The best time for sure is around Fajr, it’s the time of barakah, and reciting Quran at that time is witnessed as Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) says: “Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Quran of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.” Quran: Chapter 17, verse 78

Selected Supplications from the Holy Quran

Dear Readers, As  Salaamu Alaikum!
ALL PRAISES AND THANKS TO ALLAH, LORD OF THE WORLDS!!

Everyone is in need of success and goodness.  Du’a (supplication) is the essence of worship, the light of the heavens and the earth. It opens the doors of mercy and is a means to fulfill our needs from the treasures of our Creator and Sustainer. The Prophet (Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam) was a great believer in prayers; he made supplications to his Lord with a zeal and favour rarely to be found in the religious literature of the world. One who cares to read them, cannot but be overwhelmed with the depth of feelings with which he adressed Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala), intense love of the Great Master, deep consciousness of His unbounded favours, unshakable confidence in the Divine Mercy, and unfaltering faith in His Might and Power and sense of deep humility.

We also need to have a humble and a positive attitude when we pray to Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala). Also realise that he is the True Creator, the Sustainer of the Worlds. He it is who created the Heavens and the Earth and He is able to do all things. So we should not lose hope in Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) and beseech him for good in both the Worlds. In this regard, we present to you a few supplications to ask Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) which are mentioned in the Holy Qur’an. It should be remembered that our Dua's and prayers should be directed towards Him and Him alone! This means we should not associate any partner with Him. Only He is the True Lord and we should pray only to Him and not to any person or thing.

Supplications from the Qur'an

Dear Readers, As  Salaamu Alaikum!

ALL PRAISES AND THANKS TO ALLAH, LORD OF THE WORLDS!!

Islam attached great importance to supplicating, as it is the direct means through which the slave communicates with his Lord. As Muslims we do not need any mediators between us and Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. In this email we will highlight some supplications that are mentioned in the Qur’an
Supplications from the Quran
Allah  Says (what means): "Our Lord, condemn us not if we forget or fall into error. Our Lord, lay not on us a burden like that you laid on those before us. Our Lord, lay not on us what we have no strength to bear.  Blot out our sins, and forgive us, and have mercy on us, You are our Protector, so give us Your help against the faithless people." [Quran 2:286]
Allah  Says (what means): "Our Lord, not for naught have you created that (Heavens and Earth and what is between] Glory be to You, so shield us from the penalty of the Fire. Our Lord, whom you admit to the Fire, you have covered them with shame. Our Lord, forgive us our sins, and blot out from us our iniquities, and gather us with those righteous (in the Hereafter). Our Lord, grant us what you promised us through Your Messengers, and do not shame us on the Day of Resurrection. Truly You, Allah  never break Your promise.” [Quran 3:191-194]
Allah  Says (what means): "Our Lord, You are the Master of the Kingdom, You grant the Kingdom to whom You will, and expropriate the Kingdom from whom You will. You bring honor to whom You will and You let whom You will be disgraced. In Your Hand is all the good, for You are Powerful over everything. You cause the night to gain on the day, and You cause the day to gain on the night. You bring the living out of the dead and You bring the dead out of the living, and You give sustenance to whom You will without measure". [Quran 3:26-27]
Allah  Says (what means): "Our Lord, truly You know what we conceal, and what we reveal, and nothing is hidden from Allah  whether on Earth or in Heaven". [Quran 14:38]
