The Importance of the Holy Qur'an

As Salaamu Alaikum!

The first lesson to be learned by all students is about the importance of the Holy Qur’aan. The Qur’aan is the Book of Allah subhaanahu wa ta‘aalaa. Every word in the Qur’aan has come from Allah. That is why we say that it is a Holy Book. The words in the Qur’aan were sent by Allah to Prophet Muhammad sallal-laahu ‘alayhi wa-aalihi wa sallam. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) received the words of Allah through angel Jibra’eel. This Qur’aan is a Holy Book that was not written by anyone but sent by Allah to Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) through Jibra’eel (AS)

  • It is the most truthful speech: Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) regularly read the words of Allah to Muslims around him. These Muslims were very pleased and excited to receive the words of Allah. Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) said: The most truthful speech, the most eloquent advice, and the greatest stories are in the Book of Allah. The Muslims listened carefully to what the Prophet read, memorized the sentences and passages of the Qur’aan, recited them regularly and followed the teachings of the Qur’aan. In order to preserve the words of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, the Prophet appointed special people known as “Scribes of the Qur’aan” to write down the words of Allah.

  • It is in original language: Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) was an Arab and the majority of people in Mecca and Medina spoke Arabic. Therefore the Qur’aan was sent in Arabic. Arabic is written from right to left. It is better to learn to read the Qur’aan in its original language. Therefore, we will put efforts to learn Qur’aan written in Arabic instead of simply reading its translation in other languages.

Analysis Of Preserving The Book Of Quran

Deen is termed as to the religion of faith and it is associated with the divine aspect of knowledge. It is provided to all mankind by a higher authority, which is objective and neutral. It is also found that the higher authority chooses a person for its spread. Prophet Muhammad(P.B.U.H) was the selected and chosen as the messenger to deliver the message to the humanity. The message also confirms that it is not at all made by different human beings, instead it is given by a Supreme Creator who keeps the interest of all people in his mind and does not favor any race over other.

Deliverance of Divine Message starts with advent of humanity. Some people follow it while others reject it. Over some period of time, this divine message became corrupted and the original message was lost. Quran teaching will help in better understanding of the Religion Islam. Therefore, this message was repeated through various messengers and prophets from one time to other for ensuring the people do not lose the sight of actual message. Therefore, each and every messenger and prophet also repeated this message which was originally revealed. The methodology, language, and some other issues might have existed in community of a prophet that depend on nature of human evolution, still this message remains the same in its actual sense.
A Muslim must understand that the Holy Quran was revealed at a time, when all other divine messages were lost because of any type of human interference. The creator declared in the Holy Quran that it is he who revealed this message and protected it. He also enabled the conditions that Prophet and Messenger can create the conditions for ensuring that there is not a single word that got lost in this Holy Book.

Qur’an is the most important book for the entire mankind

As Salaamu Alaikum!
The Qur’aan is the Book of Allah Subhaanahu wa ta‘aalaa. Every word in the Qur’aan has come from Allah. It is the most truthful speech: The Holy Qur’aan contains Allah’s message to all people. It tells people how to act correctly. It guides us to a correct way of life in this world. The Book of Allah also talks about life after death. It tells us that Allah has prepared Paradise for good people and Hell for bad people. The Qur’aan encourages the worship of only one God Who creates and provides for them. The Book forbids people from evil and condemns those who do wrong. It contains stories of the past Prophets and the examples of bad and good people. People are advised in the Qur’aan to be good to others and respect them. It teaches people to live in peace and harmony. Hence, we can say that the Holy Qur’an is the most important book for the entire mankind.

The Holy Prophet(Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) said:

1) The best of you is he who learns the Holy Quran and teaches it to others. (Bukhari)

2) Undoubtedly, the heart gets rusted like metal gets rusted when water goes over it. The people asked, “How can they [the hearts] be cleaned?” The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wassallam) replied, “To remember death in abundance and to recite the Holy Quran.” (Mishkat)

Living By The Qur'an's Values Is Easy

We have made the Qur'an easy to remember. But is there any rememberer there? (Surat al-Qamar: 17)

Allah sent down the Qur'an as a guide to humanity and conveyed the simplest and the best way to lead one's life. The verses give us the good news that Islam is easy to practice: "Allah desires ease for you; He does not desire difficulty for you" (Surat al-Baqara: 185).

The Qur'an is a clear admonition to people of all ages and cultures. However, some people refer to unreliable sources, rather than the Qur'an, that cause them to believe mistakenly that Islam is difficult. The basic reason behind this attitude is their incomplete knowledge of Islam.

In our own day, many people remain utterly unaware of the facts conveyed by the Qur'an, such as the existence of the Hereafter, eternal life in Hell, Paradise's matchless blessings, and our Lord's admonitions and warnings to humanity. However, the Qur'an was sent down so that people could read it and take admonition. The Qur'an reveals that Allah told the Prophet (saas) to say: "(I have been ordered) to recite the Qur'an" (Surat an-Naml: 92).

To read and comply with the Qur'an is one of a Muslim's most important responsibilities. Allah causes people to grasp the Qur'an, and only those who are guided by Him can understand the full meaning of its verses. He also promises guidance to the sincere servants who turn to Him.
